NIPE researchers among the most influential in the world

José Carlos Brandão and José Carlos Pinho make the list “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2021” by Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing group

The Centre for Research in Economics and Business Policies has two researchers in the group of the 2% most influential in the world, according to a study by Stanford University, United States, and the Elsevier publishing group. José Carlos Brandão and José Carlos Pinho, NIPE researchers and professors from the Department of Management at the School of Economics and Management, are on the list that includes 190 thousand scientists, 703 are Portuguese.

The document “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2021” presents the best researchers in the world in 22 areas and 176 sub-areas, considering several metrics related to publications and citations, according to data from the Scopus database until August 2021.
The study aims to create a public repository on the impact and influence of researchers on the progress of scientific knowledge and combat self-citation abuses.
