Biography:

João Amador is an Associate Professor (Adjunct) at Nova School of Business and Economics where he teaches Macroeconomic Policies and European Economy. He has also taught Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in other departments of Universidade Nova and in executive programs. He has completed his Ph.D. in Economics in 2000.

João Amador has been combining academic work and economic policy activities. He is currently head of the Public Finance and Structural Studies division in the Economics and Research Department of Banco de Portugal. He has published several policy-papers by Banco de Portugal, chapters in books, as well as articles in international academic journals. His research interests are international trade, product market and productivity, macroeconomics, public finance, Portuguese economy and European economy
